Some years ago the Großglockner Resort Kals-Matrei was awarded for being “Austria’s Family Ski Resort with the best price-performance ration”. This is still true today, because skiing is free of charge for children under 6 years old, for pupils and teens between 6 and 18 years old there are full 50% discount. Großglockner Resort Kals-Matrei is the largest ski resort throughout East Tyrol and well known for its varied family ski runs.
The perfect family accommodation facility is situated right at “Blauspitz” valley run. The four-star superior hotel of the car-free Gradonna****S Mountain Resort grant a 50% discount for children under 18 years of age (in the parents’ room). Furthermore the Resort features the ski pass, a ski rental, a ski school and a free beginners’ skiing area. Put on your skis right in front of the hotel and get to the valley station of Kals.
16 top modern mountain railways and lifts as well as superb powder snow ski runs are available for your personal snow experience. The resort’s altitude guarantees a high probability to have natural snow, although there is of course the possibility to produce artificial snow. Young beginners may choose between two kids’ ski areas in Kals and at upper station Goldried.
